Discrimination against passengers or drivers on the basis of race, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, physical or mental disability, medical condition, marital status, age, or sexual orientation is not allowed, and can result in deactivation from the platform.
ZCarr is committed to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming community, and our mission is ensuring people who need rides most are able to get them. Refusing passengers with service animals is a violation of our terms of service. Discrimination of any kind may result in the offender’s immediate deactivation.
ZCarr’s policy is that passengers who use wheelchairs that can safely and securely fit in the car’s trunk or backseat without obstructing the driver’s view should be reasonably accommodated by drivers on the ZCarr platform. Drivers should make every reasonable effort to transport the passenger and their wheelchair.
If you refuse to provide a ride to a passenger whose wheelchair could be reasonably accommodated, we’ll follow up with you to find out why. Drivers who found to have unreasonably refused to transport passengers with lightweight wheelchairs that can be dismantled or folded are liable to be removed as drivers on the ZCarr platform.
If a wheelchair doesn’t fit
Sometimes, larger wheelchairs can’t be accommodated. After making a reasonable effort to load the chair, drivers should cancel the ride.
If this happens, drivers should also notify us by tapping ‘Call Me.’ We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Service animal policy
When it comes to transporting riders with service animals, drivers on the ZCarr platform should remember one thing: Always Say Yes. That’s because drivers must comply with applicable laws and ZCarrr’s Service Animal Policy. The law and ZCarr’s Service Animal Policy state that drivers may not deny service or otherwise discriminate against passengers with service animals. This means that drivers must transport a rider with a service animal regardless of whether a driver is allergic or afraid of these animals, or has a religious or cultural objection to them.
A service animal is an animal, usually a dog, that is trained to perform tasks for an individual with a disability, like blindness or deafness. Service animals are not required to wear a tag or vest or be registered. Riders with service animals do not need to display any kind of proof that their animal is a service animal. In other words, if a rider with a dog says it is a service animal, the driver should transport the rider.
ZCarr strives to ensure that people who need rides most are able to get them. Refusing service to riders with service animals may result in the immediate removal of the driver from the ZCarr platform.
If a driver has a question or concern about the policy, or would like to report a rider who they suspect is abusing the policy, they should call the Service Animal Hotline after they transport the rider and their service animal to their desired destination.

Drivers with service animals
It is ZCarr’s policy that drivers are permitted to ride with their service animals. However, this may limit the number of passengers you can carry, and some passengers may be uncomfortable or allergic around your service animal and will ask you to cancel their request. It is advised that you call the passenger in advance to notify them of the service animal. If they are unable to ride with your service animal, you must cancel the ride so they can request another driver. Pro- tip: If the request came from nearby, sign out of driver mode for a minute so that you don’t receive the passenger’s next request.
Pet Policy (Non-Service Animals)
Although drivers aren’t allowed to bring their own own furry friends along for the ride when driving (after all, some passengers have allergies or are otherwise uncomfortable with unfamiliar animals), some passengers will ask to bring their pets along with them when requesting a ride. Unless the passenger has a service animal, it’s entirely up to the driver whether or not to allow the passenger’s pet in the vehicle.
We advise passengers to call their drivers after their ride request is accepted to confirm that it’s OK to bring their pets.
As a driver, if you’re comfortable with it, passengers love it when you go the extra mile, so feel free! But if you’d prefer to not have their pet (that is, a non-service animal) in your car for any reason, be friendly and politely ask the passenger to cancel the ride. If they’re charged a fee, they can reach out to us by tapping ‘Contact Support’ below and we’ll take care of it.
